Kelp and Cherry Christmas Shortbread

Soft, buttery, delicious Kelp and Cherry shortbread cookies made completely dairy and gluten-free!

These shortbread cookies are perfect for a Christmas cookie exchange, holiday party or Saint Nic’s plate on Christmas eve.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp Golden Kelp Granules (Plain or Smoked)

  • ½ cup soft non-dairy butter

  • 2 ¼ cups gluten-free flour

  • ⅓ cup pure maple syrup

  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract

  • ½ - 1 cup red and green candied or fresh seasonal cherries optional

Method:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.

  • Using an electric beater on medium, combine butter, Golden Kelp, maple syrup and vanilla extract.

  • Fold in flour using a wooden spoon. Add in cherries.

  • Once all well mixed, make small balls and push onto baking sheet, evenly spaced.

  • Bake for 12-16 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.

  • Cool and serve!
